Allison Weiss - Say What You Mean

Allison Weiss has caused a stir on the indie scene, and the hotly tipped songstress is about to take her music to the masses with the release of Say What You Mean.

The songs of Say What You Mean perfectly fuse indie rock elements with pop sensibilities to make for a very easy and comfortable listen. A break up song; Making It Up, kick starts the album and instantly draws in the listener, holding them in an unbreakable grip for the rest of the album. The song is so catchy that you actually forget that she is singing about a sad situation.

Weiss' songs take you on a journey of loss and love, which is passionately told and heartfelt. Her songs are catchy and you'll find yourself singing along by the time the second chorus hits.

Say What You Mean houses tracks which are perfectly structured performed and produced but somehow maintain a gritty edge. Weiss' enthusiasm comes streaming out of the speakers with every song, and her honesty is somewhat enchanting.

After listening to Say What You Mean it is clear why Allison Weiss is so hotly tipped, and why her Kickstarter campaign for her first full length album reached its target in under 12 hours.
The album is not incredibly innovative or unusual but it is full of quality song writing, good performances both musically and vocally and has been well but not overproduced. Say What You Mean is an extremely likeable album but it is probably one for the girls, and Allison Weiss is definitely one to watch.
