The Stereo State are back with their third release; a six-track EP called Crossing Canyons.
As soon as opening track; Across The Susquehanna starts playing, The Stereo State grab your full attention. The Massachusetts rockers have created an up-tempo sound that is full of driving guitars and great lyrics, telling a touching story of driving 400 miles just to get home. A great opening number.
The entire EP is full of energy and passion, the musicianship is impressive and the lyrics are likable. Crossing Canyons is an incredibly catchy release, you catch yourself nodding along with every track and each song is guaranteed to have you singing along by the time the second chorus hits.
The stand out track on this release is American Bones, the vocals have a beautiful gravelly tone to them, and musically there's a great driving force. This track is extremely likeable and it's hard not to keep hitting the repeat button.
Crossing Canyons is a fab EP that leaves you wanting more. The whole record has been well written, performed and produced. It is perfectly balanced in terms of sound. Crossing Canyons is well worth checking out, and no doubt it will leave you hoping that The Stereo State tour the UK soon.
