Beyond Sevensigns - Alone To Face The Dead

Stratford Upon Avon may not be the UK's musical hub but that's where Beyond Sevensigns hail from.

The band have won the backing of Bullet For My Valentine, with guitarist Padge going on to produce Alone To Face The Dead; Beyond Sevensigns' debut EP.

Take The Fall kicks things into action, as soon as the opening track starts playing, you know that you're in for a fast and furious ride. It is obvious that Welsh Metallers Bullet For My Valentine have had a considerable influence on Beyond Sevensigns, which could be why Padge felt such an affinity with them.

Alone To Face The Dead has a consistent pace and songs pick up where the previous one left off. Their songs are well structured and well performed; the band's technical ability is evident throughout and their tracks are relatively catchy.

Clean vocals seamlessly slide easily into screaming making for a comfortable listen. I Am Colossus has a fabulous instrumental break which highlights just how musically talented these guys are, but it is definitely not the most original release kicking around right now.

If you're a fan of Bullet For My Valentine, you will enjoy Alone To Face The Dead there are plenty of moments on this release where Beyond Sevensigns sound like BFMV part two. Overall, it is a good release and the band have plenty of potential, but they are yet to find their stride.
