JunkFoxx - Listen Up!
UK rockers JunkFoxx have been together for about 18 months and have just released a fabulous looking EP called Listen UP!.
After admiring the CD itself for a few moments; the CD is made to look like vinyl, not as cool as the real deal but pretty darn close, I popped the CD into the drive and was pleased by what came rumbling out of the speakers.
As leading lady Julia Clark's voice kicks in on the opening track Cold-hearted Bitch, you know you're in for a treat. The song has a wonderful driving bassline and plenty of attitude. Cold-hearted Bitch is a catchy and likeable song and the hook is guaranteed to get stuck in your head.
Nathan Lusher takes over the lead vocal duty for the next song; Falling Under, while his voice is not as strong as Julia's, it works perfectly for this modern blues rock song.
Listen Up! has a lovely raw edge which is a joy to listen to and shows a lot of promise for an upcoming and young band.
