Toranaga - Righteous Retribution
Toranaga may have disappeared off radar back in the nineties but they come riffing their way back into the 21st century with the release of their new album Righteous Retribution.
Toranaga sound as good as they ever did, if not better, and it is hard to believe they disbanded over twenty years ago. Armed with a new guitarist; Mik Crone, there are plenty of killer riffs to be heard on Righteous Retribution.
The album is wall to wall metal brilliance, Toranaga sound like a band in their heyday thanks to their strong vocals, shredding guitars, punchy basslines and lightning fast drumlines.
Lead single Cynical Eyes is a blinder of a track and although none of the tracks can be classed as 'fillers', Cyncial Eyes is bound to become a fan favourite.
Prove Me Wrong is a beauty of a track; hard-hitting and fast paced, for me, this is the highlight of Righteous Retribution and would be incredibly powerful at a live gig.
Righteous Retribution is a joy to listen to and is one hell of a comeback album. It is well performed and produced, and shows an extremely high level of musicianship which could put a lot of today's bands to shame.
