Mom's Rocket - RED

Mom's Rocket hail from a basement in Olympia, Washington but are now stepping out into the big wide world with the release of their third album RED.

RED is the first album to feature the band's new drummer Jason Weisenhaus who joined the band following previous drummer Jeff Meshke's shoulder surgery, which left him unable to continue playing live.

The album is packed full of heavy guitar riffs, clever drumming and strong vocals. Red is a solid album where not a single song could be classed as a "filler".

Opening track By A Thread, perfectly sets you up for the rest of the album, it's punchy and hard hitting with a slight southern rock feel, which is bound to give it a lot of appeal to fans of bands such as Black Stone Cherry.

Words takes on a bit more of a funkier edge when compared to the previous tracks, and it is sure to get the crowd moving at a live show, as will the chugging Through My Hands and the thumping Already Dead.

RED is a fun album from a band whose talent comes blaring out of the speakers. Here's hoping Mom's Rocket pay a visit to the UK soon, as their music would be ten times more powerful in the live arena.
