Glass City Vice – Waves

Brighton based foursome Glass City Vice formed back in 2010 and have since been gathering followers across the UK with their distinctive sound, which can now be heard through this three track EP Waves.

The EP opens with the poppy title track that you can't help but tap along with. The vocals of Josh Oliver sing along well and the backing harmonies that come across in the chorus add some depth to the song. The chorus is especially notable and begs to be joined in with. This one really makes an impact as the opening tune and pleads for you to hear more. With that comes along Have To Say, the bands newest single which is due for release later this month. Like the opening number this one is upbeat and wraps you within a blanket of crashing drums and a catchy guitar riffs. The EP closes with Just A Position and safely secures a hat trick of three wonderful tunes.

Waves is a remarkable EP that doesn't show off with fancy melodies or overpowering vocals. Its simplicity and attention to detail is what makes it so admirable. Now when do we hear more...
