Idle Class - The Drama's Done

German punks Idle Class are set to take on the UK with the release of their debut album; The Drama's Done.

The Drama's Done is extremely energetic from the word go, the guitar work instantly leaps out; some of the riffs are incredible and incredibly catchy, quickly drawing you into the album.

Sadly, although the music on The Drama's Done is incredible, the vocal work leaves a lot to be desired. The tone of Tobi's voice is not appealing and to an extent, it makes you disengage from the album. The lack of strong, appealing and engaging vocals is a shame because the songs are actually very well written and it makes it difficult to appreciate what is actually being said.

The Drama's Done has a real raw punk feel, which probably means that Idle Class will come across a thousand times better in a live setting than their music does when listening to the album at home. Tobi's vocals are definitely going to be a lot more appealing in a live setting than on an album that is otherwise super sleek.

The passion Idle Class have is evident throughout The Drama's Done; their songs are well structured and musically very well performed. There is no doubt that a crowd would come alive when watching these guys performing live, they have great lyrics, great music and an infectious energy. A good first effort from a band who have plenty of potential.
