Emp!re - Our Simple Truths

Hailing from the Sound West of England, EMP!RE (yes the ! is meant to be in there) are a five piece rock band who released their debut Ep Birth back in 2012 quickly followed by their mini album Where the World Begins a year later. After much hard work Emp!re has created another offering in the form of Out Simple Truths.

Opening with an explosive mash of melodies within Hands and Tongues, this track sets hairs on your arms raising. Through the verses the guitars gently manoeuvre their way through and drums tap gently in the back. As the chorus kicks in however things erupt with the guitars crashing and the drums pounding. The vocal talents add another layer on top that shine throughout but power thump on the chorus. At one point there is some metal influences demonstrated.

Sparrows is next on the agenda with its fast paced melodies and a chorus to which you cannot help but tap along with. Sights has more of a bounce as it opens with the melodies being a little smoother and they leave you tapping away to them well after the song has finished. Patchwork and Bone quickly follows in a similar fashion of the previous three tunes, fairly fast moving with some incredible guitars. Sweet Apollo (Brighter than the Sun) concludes the release with an arms waving tune that when played on a big stage, you can only imagine the crowd response.

If these five tracks are anything to go by, Emp!re is a band that has a bright future ahead and we can’t wait to see what comes next
