Is Electro Glitz the next big thing?

Hard Fi have been hanging out with the indie rock NME endorsed elite in the form of The Bravery and The Kaiser Chiefs as well as all the cool kids at South By Southwest. They have a big summer ahead of them playing Wireless and Glastonbury, hmm...I wonder if any of Kate Moss' pals will be shacking up with any of this lot soon then? Are they Indie enough to be picked from the litter? Well, 'Hard To Beat' is decent, in a sort of slowed down Bravery meets Joy Division way. It's not cohering to the Brit pop revival nor the Franz Ferdinand/Bloc Party guitar-music-you-can-dance-to theme. It's really rather bland, melodic and slow moving songs like this don't always grab the listeners attention straight away so I tried putting it on repeat, but I got bored quickly. Nothing too distinctive or attention grabbing, the chorus filled with dull lyrics gets monotonous fast, it'll be a passé indie rock club night song, background music to get wasted to that doesn't take your attention away from the sheer fact that you're getting wasted, which I suppose is appropriate as the band claim to be trying to worm their way into the "meat market buzz of suburban clubbing"

Funny, I didn't know such a thing was appealing. Electro-glitz all for show, such as this, provides very little for a listener to grab on to. Next!
