Sound Discipline

With the hardcore scene predominantly something of an American thing, it is a relief to see its European counterpart showing what it's made of. Holland's Discipline are a good example, notching up a reputation on the European festival circuit and making friends with hardcore granddaddies Agnostic Front has given the band cult status in Europe.

'Downfall Of The Working Man' opens with the rip-roaring 'Belief', which has the sing-a-long qualities of a Dropkick Murphy's song whilst having the gruff vocals of Agnostic Front. 'Strength To Believe' is an upbeat and uplifting anthem. 'Hell Is For Heroes' (No not the post-hardcore band) has the street punk swagger to insight en-masse slam dancing. 'Red And White Army' surprisingly draws parallels with The Jam in the respect that both have their musical influence firmly planted in the city.

'Downfall Of The Workingman' is filled with twelve short sharp melodic tracks of blistering hardcore with tinges of oil spattering its Dr Martens. The lyrics are heartfelt, down to earth and gritty. Despite it being slightly predictable it is a guaranteed punk party record. It's rough around the edges and far from polished giving that real punk attitude. Quality.
