Back to their Best

I feel honoured to be reviewing this single CD, with its three tracks on it. These are genuine rock legends, who have been around close to 40 years, yes I said nearly 40! The band has come along way since 1967 when they released their first single ‘Pictures of Matchstick Men’. Some forty years on there is no doubt that this is one band still on top of their game.

They really have been there, done that and got the T-shirt to prove it. The have headlined the Reading Festival on multiple occasions in the days before the likes of the watered down bands that headline events these days. One of their most momentous sets would have been when they opened Live Aid with what became an 80’s anthem ‘Rocking all Over The World’, even though it was released in 1977.

The single ‘You’ll Come ‘Round’ is a fabulous reminder as to why the Quo have lasted so long. It makes your foot tap, you want to get up and play the air guitar with them. This is Quo back at their best, taking Rock Music back to the masses who have suffered lurid pop music for so long.

With two additional tracks on the single CD, ‘Lucinda’ and a live recording of ‘Down Down’, this is one single CD that should be in anyone’s collection. There is one warning though, once you listen you may very well get hooked to the Quo and boy do they have some back catalogue for you to get into!
