Fancy Scandinavian folk

I don't know why, but there seems to be quite a bit of Scandinavian music filtering into the UK recently. Not a whisper of Abba and not a Smurf in sight, but it's here. In this instance in the shape of the duo, Hush.
Hush have been around a few years, since 1997 in fact, when Michael Hartman first encountered the fantastic voice of seventeen year old Dorthe Gerlach.

The band went through many changes to arrive at the present duo and a record contract in 2004. I must say it's been well worth the wait for the single, there are some unusual instruments here, banjo, melotron and some sort of undefined wind instrument that sounds positively mediaeval. 'If I Was' is a radio friendly folk country confection that fits nicely into the modern Kate Rusby category with Fleetwood Mac chucked in. Dorthe's voice can be described as halfway between Dolly Parton and young Stevie Nicks, not surprisingly.
The song has actually been kicking around since 2001; bit slow in getting here, but set to be a favourite.
