Reggae Love

Alas! Summer's over! But fear not, for Bedouin Soundclash are on hand to purge the abysmal autumn drudgery and relive those bygone sun-soaked days. 'When the Night Feels My Song' is the ultimate chilled-out, feel-good reggae song with a soulful twist. Carefree and casual, and in places even vaguely reminiscent of Ben E. King's 'Stand By Me', this single is guaranteed to wash away any bad mood, no matter how deeply entrenched.

What's particularly encouraging is that Bedouin Soundclash seem to have identified a gap in the market. There's no shortage of pop one-hit-wonders and indie numbers like label-mates 'The Kaiser Chiefs' littering the charts, but when was the last time you heard a new reggae band with the potential to take their soulful sound to the masses? Exactly.

Bedouin Soundclash's claims to take in a punk-rock influence along with their reggae credentials should make them an intriguing musical fusion. However, I have to say that the promised influence is somewhat absent from this snippet, and it would certainly be a shame not to see it emerge more on the band's debut UK album 'Sounding a Mosaic'.
