Catchy, Edgy and Ready To Make You Dance

The Far Cries are essentially a musical duet made in London, but they're also a musical marriage of big edgy synth beat-ridden indie and big brash rock tunes that shake your stereo.

'Stepping' begins with a big looming riff that sets the snarling pace for the whole record; mix in some vocals with a glossy electronic edge and some sexy female whispers and storming vocals and you've got a pretty impressive and unique tune. It captures both the powerfully menacing riff and slinky, seductive vibe, and drives them through a whirlwind 2 minutes of delicious rock.

Giving you time to regain your breath, B-side 'The Edge' is a little lighter in the melody, but it still has a sharp disco edge that rocks with an acute awareness for abstract lyrics - "I can't take the edge of something with no edge and lack of something" - penetrating percussion and rocking guitars.

'Cold Love' really has something fabulously punk in the spat-out lyrics and mounting crescendo of frenetic drumming and overwhelming guitars. This is one of the most exciting tracks for me, as it shows no sense of grandeur or commercial desires; it's just a mass of exciting sounds that set your ears alight.
