Love Bites Ya Bum

I suppose all my angst and suspicions are confirmed when I look at the cover of this single, and as for the name Love Bites! You know the ones, four pretty girls on the cover all showing some "attitude" in clothes the stylist has chosen for them. Singing songs that some one else has written, well to quote here we go yet again. But I am disappointed, my suspicions have not been confirmed, yeah there are four females in this band, but they aren't here to dance round their handbags like Girls Aloud!

This band is a bloke's dream, four good looking birds, who can write and PLAY their own instruments - bring it on! If you were trying to label Love Bites as just another pop band I am sure this lot would rip your testicles off and jab them in your ear!

They play very much in the tried and test ilk of Avril Lavigne and there is no harm doing that; some class the style as pop punk, some as a style of rock.

"You Broke My Heart" might be addressing the teenage problem through the ages of the broken heart of the first love. But instead of the soppy style pop song we get a ballsy punk style song. And these girls are enjoying making this record, as the instruments are just as important as the vocals.

Even with the "B" side track called "Teenage Party", again addressing an issue everyone of us has had; that teenage party, because the music is too loud. Again another ballsy number with a fantastic guitar solo, and one is sure this isn't going to be the last we hear of Love Bites.

Chicks with instruments - we need more of them! This is definitely not your typical girl band, just one that loves what they are doing and can play the tunes they write. How refreshing!
