L PIERRE -I HATE T SHIRTS THAT SAY 1977
The tracks on this EP are apparently left overs from Aidan Moffat's second solo album, Touchpool. By the sounds of it, it follows on nicely from his first HYPNOGOGIA (it sold by the bucketload) like the second course of an interesting meal.
I HATE T-SHIRTS.... Carries on the theme of sampled classical and bunging other stuff on top including Texan rapper Notes to bring it all together in a loungecore smoothie served in a dirty broken glass with nasty sharp edges.
The other 2 tracks BIBLEBASH! and BLACK DISCO VISTA are for me, much more interesting, having as they do, all the minimal techno and freaky sampling of many an avant-garde Can tune. Holgar Czukay would have been proud.
It's all less than 15 minutes and comes in humorous packaging, looking just like it does when it leaves young Lucky Pierre's mitts on it's way to Melodic records looking like badly stencilled CDR.... Hmmm.
