Brash, Rolling Rock

'Blue Note' is a song that's full of rousing force, initially its driving acoustic sound could mislead you into thinking the band are 40-somethings reliving the sounds of their youth, but Harrisons are actually a nostalgic band of talented Yorkshire lads. The mellow vocals of the chorus have an almost-punk repetitiveness and there's certainly a hint of brash cockiness mixed into this old-school stunner. Neither the tune nor lyrics are particularly taxing and require or offer no mental stimulation; it's just a big, rolling rock song.

B-side 'Shirley's Temple' is a more laidback number full of jangly guitars and a catchy, simple chorus that rattles around inside your cranium to give hours of value. Harrisons' retro sound has already secured them a place at South By South West and with catchy, simply toe-tapping tunes like 'Blue Note', they're sure to receive plenty of warm welcomes.
