Melodic, Heavy, Passionate
Taken off Children of Bodom's latest album 'Are You Dead Yet?', 'In Your Face' was hardly going to be anything other than a deliciously fast paced, galloping single that whisks you off into a land where music is something to be constantly challenged and developed. The result is an accessable single that will entice new listeners and bring a smile and a head nod to those already acquainted with the band's chaotic melody.
Beginning with ominous grinding guitars before kicking off with a demented yell from Alexi Laiho, this is a song that although mimics the heavier production seen in their previous album, can still pack quite a punch to those willing to write them of as just noise. Technically, you cannot fault the band. You can hear the passion for what they create tucked lovingly into every note stuck. You can tell easily that this is a band proud of where they are and where they are going to get to. Children
There's a fat vein of melody running beneath the surface of 'In Your Face' and it's proof that Children of Bodom are a band on top form and are masters of creating a powerful, hypnotic blend of genres.
