Alkaline Trio - Burn
Alkaline Trio return with 'Burn' taken from the album 'Crimson' and reminds us why the stand out from the ever growing crowd of pop/punks. This track isn't exactly ground breaking; it contains the bands usually dark lyrics and energetic and melodic hooks. For fans this may not be the favourite track for a single release but it's very accessible which is bound to gain the boys some new fans.
For me what really stands out on this release are the remixes. First there's the Tim Armstrong mix; it gives the track a reggae feel, which, in my opinion, is the best track on the single. This is followed by a remix that sees punk and dance blended together, sounds strange but works and shows that there's lots of exciting ways for punk and dance to move in. The final remix has a more chilled and trippy vibe going on.
Even if you don't think that the track 'Burn' is that great it's well worth getting the single just to hear the remixes.
