Another Beach Boys sound-alike
Starts a bit like 'Paint It Black' but more like Paint It A Pale Shade Of Grey. The vocals swoop in, coated in a voice that isn't the most ravishing and then you hear the lyrics, which convey very little, no more than the title conveys in fact. The music that follows is filled with horny bits and staggered intersections of music that careen towards its unceremonious end. And there you have it, The Loungs' 'I'm Gonna Take Your Girl', somewhat forgettable.
What is it with bands at the moment reeling off trashy Beach Boys wannabe songs? The industry's overpopulated with people doing that and The Loungs are just the next in a long line of artists following that undesirable trend. No way near as shockingly awful as The Research or others, but they don't exactly staple a memo reading; 'The Loungs!' to your brain. 'Seen My Baby Dancing', the B-side is a lot better, and should really be reconsidered for positioning at A, but it's still not quite gripping. The only thing that would make you want to find out more about this band is finding out how to pronounce their name. Well, I'll ruin that one, it's pronounced 'Lungs', now you've no reason.
