These idle hands have been put to work and the fruits of their labour are ripe with energy and juice

If there's even the barest slightest resemblance to New Order in a piece of new music then the journos of today are all too ready to jump on that and name check the band without second thought. But 'Loaded' by The Idle Hands does sound like New Order and that's a good thing, The Idle Hands as a whole don't sound like New Order but 'Loaded' does...

It's a fun piece of music, starting with a whirring riff, a little like Gary Numan's 'Cars' and a chorus out of early 90s alternative heaven, worthy. 'Queen Of Air & Darkness' is different, more tranquil and nice, soft and swaying, lovely high notes in the chorus and an air of cool about it all the way through. There's something to this band at least, Ciaran Daly's voice is friendly and warming and the music has a lot of potential...

'Song 4' is more rocky, with a DIY feel and 'Sunshine On The Tenements' seems to have learnt a thing or two from the mastery and wizardry of Joseph Arthur. So, as a whole, The Idle Hands seem to have a lot going for them; catchy songs, good voice, nice syntax and strong lyrics, so watch this space...
