The Academy Is - Checkmarks
Fresh from touring with Panic! At The Disco Chicago quintet The Academy Is... release "Checkmarks" their first commercial release taken from their debut album "Almost Here".
"Checkmarks" makes it easy to see why The Academy Is are quickly becoming a household name. This track packs a punch, from the outset is obvious that these guys are serious about the music the make. It's full of excellent work on guitar and drums, not to mention yearning vocals. The track is definitely one for the emo kids it features an incredible strong sing along chorus, which is bound to have you singing and dancing along in no time. The song writing team between William Beckett and guitarist Michael Carden works well and its obvious the want to keep their music melodic and very accessible, and the pair succeed throughout "Checkmarks".
"Checkmarks" is well worth checking out and can only be a sign of better things to come from The Academy Is.
