It's only another great Feeder single

The singles Feeder are releasing right now are the bonus tracks from their recent Singles Album. And therefore it would seem logical for each of the obligatory new tracks to showcase a different side to their work.

The key to Feeder's success, the reason why they are appreciated by so many is that they can rock with the best of them, yet with other tracks still slot nicely into the softer, dare I say it, more bland surroundings of most radio playlists.

'Lost and Found' was harder, heavier Feeder, and by way of contrast, 'Save Us' is from the more mellow end of their repertoire.

If you find the Feeder ballads a bit of a turn off then this does still have heavy elements in it. The chorus' are typical of this band, powerful but as catchy as the dream pop song could be. This track also builds to a strong rock conclusion which will come across very well when played live.

It always makes me smile when a 'Best Of' album comes out with extra songs included.

"Here's our 'Greatest Hits', and here are some more which we know you'll do the decent thing and make hit records for us even though you've not heard them yet – cheers you're most kind!"

In the case of 'Save Us' there is no doubt whatsoever that this will be a successful record; it's already being hammered on rock radio in the UK. The only thing which will stop it registering highly in the chart is the fact that by now most who will like this track probably own the singles collection anyway and so are unlikely to rush out and buy this too.

That said as a stand alone single this is certainly up there as one of Feeder's strongest, nothing you haven't heard before but, when on the greatest hits run, if it ain't broke why fix it!

Depending on which format you go for you may get new tracks or the excellent hit 'Feeling A Moment'. This track has seen it's profile rise considerably after it's use during TV coverage of the World Cup and is one of many to perform well in the download chart off the back of the release of the singles album.

Feeder are on the festival trail once again and return to the Main Stage at Reading and Leeds this August. This single is released on July 24th.
