Easy On The Ear

Apparently this single is a good indication of the way their album (out later this year) will sound, so it will probably be pretty good. 'You And Me' has nice jangly indie guitars, decent vocals (luckily sung in the vocalist's Irish accent and not some faux American one) and a really catchy chorus that just WILL NOT get out of your head once you've heard it; it's the kind of tune you can imagine being danced to at Wednesday night student indie discos everywhere.

The tune has that summery happy-go-lucky, uplifting type of indie sound, but it's not just one to listen to when you're out because it also has a more mature feel, one that promises and delivers more than just a dance-floor filling one hit wonder. In some ways it is reminiscent of less commercial indie bands like The Reindeer Section; but way more chipper. It's a really decent effort and the fact that they've toured with Hope of the States has no doubt given them plenty of publicity with all the right kind of people. Well worth a listen if this is your kind of thing.
