Unpretentious Synth Pop

Truly quirky singles are few and far between lately but a choir of angels is currently singing hallelujah somewhere because finally something truly interesting and just plain odd is coming to invade your senses. 'I am xRay' is the debut single from a couple of 20 years olds from Liverpool and Chesterfield, known to us as To My Boy. Obviously having a laugh with their synth keyboards and drum machines they've created a perfect piece of electronic happy clappy pop which in places even has a slight hint of The Jam's 'Going Underground' to it.

Infectiously upbeat with simple lyrics and synth backings there is nothing too complicated or pretentious to this track and in a world of posers and deep and meaningfuls that is a very welcome thing.
