Why did they go down the rap route? Such a shame

With a name like that, it's fair to assume Emo is the order of the day. And lo and behold, this is most definitely true. The band claim that they are Hip-hop-Rock and I can see where they are going with that genre classification with the second song, but overall, I'd say this band was verging on emo, and quiet, boring emo at that.

"Miss Me When I'm Dead" is certainly in the emo spectrum. The vocals are quite bassy and "Creed" like. It isn't the screaming, "My Chemical Romance" style of emo however. The bass lines are quite strong and catchy however. But for something that's trying to be emotional and hardcore, it fails to deliver on both counts.

"Lately" isn't Emo at all though. It's a bad attempt at a rap song. The guitar initially sounds quite rocking but once the beat and vocals hit, the song takes a huge dive-bomb. The chorus almost reminded me of some of Michael Jackson's tunes. No idea why and the thought doesn't last too long. It's a pity, since there are elements of metal, good rock and some heavier beats. Why, oh why did the go down this route? Sure, there's talent in there, but it's just not very interesting at all.
