'Broken Toy' is a country composition with the typical thump-thump double bass jolliness, with sciffle drumming that brushes its way along the jolly road. The guitars are happy enough to bumble on their way.
The b-side 'Climb Climb' is, well, is it a b-side? Compared to the first song, it seems to make more sense and gets away with more than just a vibe of a playful, meaningless jam. It packs enough mystery and funny stuff that one eyebrow will curl skyward, your chin will spring a goatee and giant question marks will stalk you to your local groceries.
It's sloppy and slightly weird. Like a romantic poet with a melted head due to writing too many prose pieces next to the candlelight. God knows why it gets away with what it gets away with. And what is it that it gets away with? God knows! A melted head?! Possibly!
