Sly, Seditious Beats With A Nonchalant Menace

Sharp melodic guitars and corrosive vocals with a punk edge that sear the electronic shades beneath them; this is how Manchester's Fear Of Music introduce themselves on 'We Are Not The Enemy', the lead track of their 3 track EP. Preceding an album and single later this year, 'We Are The Enemy' dips its toes into the musical shark pool and waits for us listeners to take the bait, or a bite; luckily the former looks the most likely outcome as we're enticed into the band's edgy art rock world.

'The Sheets Twist' is a grinding, seditious beast of a tune kept in check by singer Jo Rose's nasal, cataclysmic vocals, which pour across the tunes rather than conforming to any constricting structure. 'A Blueprint' is a more reflective tune with atmospheric piano musings swelling over taught percussion and dancing guitars, while the vocals maintain the same gripping conviction.

Expect big things from this inventive art rock outfit who won In The City while still at school and are now coming to collect their rightful quota of fans who will be addicted to their lazy, bruising riffs and dark introspections all told with an air of characteristic cool.
