Melody driven rock
As far as unsigned bands go, Page 44 is distinctly well above average. Apart from the actual quality of their fuzzy four track demo, the songwriting stands up to scrutiny – they have a batch of well written, fast paced, catchy, emotive melody driven rock tunes that fans of Jonah Matranga, Jimmy Eat World and The Get Up Kids will probably take to like ducks to water.
No matter how derivative their tunes are, (often having more than a touch of an old school emo sound to them) it's hard not to get caught up in their poppy hooks and catchy choruses. They already have masses of support from their fans on myspace and were lucky enough to recently land a slot on "Popworld" which must have helped them up their fan base considerably; surely it must be only a matter of time before they are snapped up by some label or other.
