The definition of the guilty pleasure

When I saw this CD the first thing I thought was "please let this be what I think it is".

If I'm honest on the face of it this is an odd single. It's fair to say that 'Crazy Horses' by the Osmans isn't exactly the coolest record ever made, and this "re-working" by Captain Flashback doesn't stray that far from the original. A few twenty-first century dance music characteristics are evident, like the occasional fade for effect not to mention this version being faster than the seventies equivalent, but those who think music should be serious all the time are simply missing the point.

I'd be surprised if this track saw massive radio success as it's probably too close to the original to be thought as worthy by those with power, granted there are plenty of old unfashionable songs re-invented by dance acts but the sample rather than the cover or straight forward remix tends to capture the imagination more. If you hate 'Crazy Horses' then you're not going to like this. If however it's a record that occupies the guilty pleasure spot in your life then Captain Flashback's updated effort will bring a smile to your face.
