Teenybopper fodder.

Pop-punk shenanigans that's somewhere between Placebo and Panic! At The Disco; poppy but slightly downbeat melody driven rock. Cute Is What We Aim for are on Fueled By Ramen, the label that brought us Fall Out Boy and The Academy Is... and this single is cut from the same cloth; lightweight teenybopper fodder with little or no depth. It's not particularly bad but it's not brilliant either – it's hard to get excited about something this middle of the road.

'Newport Living' never really gets going or lets rip, sticking to a mainstream pop sound with no rough edges so it's not particularly memorable. True, it has quite a good little riff but it sounds too Placeboish and the anthemic, sing along chorus sounds a lot like Fall Out Boy. Apparently their debut album "The Same Old Blood Rush With A New Touch" sold a shed load, so this will probably sell plenty of copies anyway. Meh.
