Showing the young bucks how it's done

Most people of a certain age are aware of Dinosaur Jr, and know of their early nineties cult status and the influence they've had on countless bands in their native USA and around the world. It's also fair to say there are two camps to fall into with this band, you either get them or you don't. You can probably add a third group which contains younger music fans, the "they were just a bit before my time" section. When Dinosaur Jr played the Carling Weekend in 2005, it was noticeable that this was a massive event for a few, but for the majority here was an act they'd heard about but really had no connection with.

So now in 2007 it's time for those who missed the boat the first time round to get a second chance as Dinosaur Jr have returned and on Monday April 16, release the first single from forth-coming new album 'Beyond'.

As a statement of intent this is near enough perfect. There's enough of an early nineties retro feel to convince the older fans that this is the same bunch they loved back in the day, but anyone who likes high energy, slightly alternative power rock should love this track. At times there's something of a Lemonheads feel to this song and there's even a cracker of a guitar solo to go with the insanely catchy chorus to make 'Been There All The Time' one of the best rock singles of the year so far.
