Deep, intelligent emo

A bright pink CD and a band name Cute Is What We Aim For might put off the macho music fans among us. Admittedly the over-exaggerated American twang and use of falsetto on phrases like "touch her" do add to the campness of 'Curse of Curves' but if you like Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy you'll love this tune by their label mates. If you don't like them then give this a wide birth because it's your typical American Emo or 'Power Pop' as the band like to call it.

'Curse of Curves' holds a more unusual lyrical sentiment than the standard boy-meets-girl-boy-loses-girl-boy-gets-depressed scenario, although I rather object to being cursed by my curves and probably wouldn't appreciate his one liners anyway thanks very much. All still in their teens, the band have pledged to write songs about what real life is like as a teenager, saying, 'let's be fun, but let's be deep and intelligent at the same time'. They even use clever phrases like, 'are you perspiring from the irony'.

I'm not a fan of emo but this is really catchy and you know they're going to be huge. It does all the right things - quiet intro, nice twinkly guitar in the bridge and a proper rocking chorus. Plus I'm a girl and the CD's bright pink.
