Keep an eye out for The Enemy
The sound of the angry youth has always been a favourite in the musical world and that is never going to change. Each generation has had their bands to soundtrack the feeling, or or lack of, of modern life and The Enemy have as much a claim to be doing it for the kids today as anyone.
At just over three minutes, 'Away From Here' is unlikely to completely chart the tale of the disenchanted youth but in its bellowing and echoing chorus and the driving guitar line that underpins the song, it makes a fair stab at it.
Theres nothing new in this type of act and in each passing generation it gets harder to gather the same enthusiasm for the latest kids on the block but for anyone just getting into music, the effect of this track is likely to be impressive.
It sounds huge, its loud and you can feel the anger and boredom of everyday life dripping from the speakers in every sneer and volleyed line. The last thirty seconds when The Enemy go for the jugular cant fail to excite and its easy to see why certain people are getting their knickers in a twist about this band.
If you need a new young band to give you some direction, or just need something to remind of why you first fell in love with music, there are worse acts to stick on than The Enemy and 'Away From Here' hits the spot.
