Vatican DC – Fountainhead

'Fountainhead' is taken from the debut album 'Make It Ride' by Vatican DC, a London-based indie-punk act. Touring with the likes of Bloc Party, The Rakes and The Prodigy (their press release takes great pride in the assertion that Vatican DC where the only band not to get bottled off on The Prodigy's tour), Vatican DC will be hoping to draw fans from both Indie and Punk camps.

'Fountainhead' is an above-average Indie-rock song, with a catchy synth melody and gritty-but-tuneful punk vocals. But the fact that the Kaiser Chiefs are among their fanbase kind of says it all. The song is well written, and could well be a hit with the indie kids in their clubs. But it's neither particularly new nor particularly interesting. An average song that will no doubt inspire drunken dancing, but may also inspire regret the morning after.
