The delightful duo that is 'Does It Offend You Yeah?' reside in Reading, and are set to well and truly rip through the music scene in the remainder of 2007. This single 'Weird Science' is taken from their eagerly awaited forthcoming debut album, and is an absolute belter.
Having burst onto the scene with their hugely popular remix of Bloc Party's 'The Prayer', catching the eye of every A&R mogul in the industry in the process, DIOYY are now signed and set for nationwide domination. At only a few months old, their sound is so defined and absorbing its astonishing; heavy electro beats dripping with slimy synths and glitchy ambient sounds, topped with distorted vocal phrases and a riff that belongs in an 80s arcade machine. Think Justice and Daft Punk, but with their robot wires slashed by razor blades, oil and grease spouting from every joint. This is downright dirty, sleazy electro.....and its fantastic.
The future is certainly bright for these lads, and its only a matter of time before their filthy beats are all over the charts and radio. Currently embarking on a UK tour, I suggest you catch them while you can. If this track is anything to go by, the album will be nothing short of brilliant. This reviewer can't wait.
