Creepy, smoky and spaced out rock.

Celestial and out of this world, occasionally we all like our rock to have something different about it, an edge of the unusual and the trippy, the unexpected. Sometimes when we all get a bit sick of the mainstream hardcore and we just want to chill, we like to stick on something a little eerie and strange to light up a smoke to and just get lost in. Lake Of Tears' 'Moons And Mushrooms' can offer you just that, the perfect soundtrack to those evenings when everything seems a little out of the ordinary and the sound will entice you into a spaced out trance. A blend of electric, twisted sounds and classic riffs, the style is a cross between dance euphoria and incredibly addictive hard rock and will not fail to get you grooving and tripping out. Incredibly mosh-worthy and powerful, Lake of Tears have brought about an intelligent innovation with this release.

'Last Purple Sky' opens up the album with an 80's electro-pop crossed metal appeal. The introduction has a floating feeling as the guitar riffs fly above the keys like a comet above the stars and pave the way for a real trance-like and melodic tune. The vocals also have an eerie, echoing quality about them which only helps accentuate the moods further and bring a trance-dance appeal as the song explodes into the chorus, making even the prospect of a post apocalyptic future seem bright. The song is infectious, driving its way into your mind within minutes with its powerful beat and those repeating overdriven riffs that ooze all the sensuality of classic rock and the resilient power of power metal. 'Last Purple Sky' gets the album off to a heavy and energetic start, proving that their sound has more potential to infect your body and mind then a case of the flu, this track guarantees that you absolutely WILL be off the floor and rocking out whether you like it or not!

'Waiting, counting' displays the more electric, synthesised edge to their sound, glittering and shining with its mysterious like stars in the dark abyss of space. The introduction and verse fade in with a gentle acoustic approach as the vocals croon romantically and the music kicks into the chorus, longing and wistful, like a woman waiting on the shore for her lost love to return. This track has something of the mysterious within its longing, pleading guitar riffs and the melody lines become more and more epic as the ballad evolves into an explosive guitar solo that gets heads banging and feet moving.

'Children of the Grey' takes a rawer and heavier approach, not unlike the music of Billy Idol at times. Its dark and classic riffs roar on and create an anthematic sound that once again proves infectious. 'Children of the Grey' would be the kind of song you would want to rock out to at Download before a headliner, classic, heavy and authentic and definitely worthy of cracking open a bottle of Jagermeister or Jack Daniels to accompany.

Lake Of Tears have that certain something about them that just makes you happy, whether you are intoxicated or not they will always rock and make you dance. They definitely worthy of getting more attention from all aspects of the alternative scene for their sheer ingenuity and musical skills.
