One Of The Best Songs Of The Year
Joining the latest influx of singer-songwriter-musicians from the USA, Ross Copperman is certainly one of the best in a long time. On this track, he sounds a little like Daniel Powter, which could be because of the piano. But, it is easy to see this young lad has much more talent than we can see from the outset.
This song is certainly well written and performed, with absolutely amazing vocals; he is able to sing notes on either end of the scale. The lyrics are beautifully written about not being accepted as who you are, which is something that many people can relate to. The presence of the piano adds that smooth and sensual touch to the track. What is even more incredible is the fact that it is really him who is playing. Musicians usually play the loudest instrument available, electric guitar, and leave something as tranquil as the piano for someone in the back. The piano at the front is an excellent touch. The song starts very slow, and calm, but builds up to an amazing and full of life chorus.
