Lapping the other contenders

This is going to be a difficult review, CD single, two tracks, both the same piggin song, albeit a radio edit version. Anyway LAP aka lifeamongpeople released their mini album earlier in the year to high acclaim. How do I know this, cos it says it on their press release!!
I'm not one to be taken in by such claims, just because I'm a country bumpkin form back of beyond in North Wales. The single is only for release as download via usual sites, they don't advertise mine so Im not going to reciprocate the favour either.

LAP originate from Manchestuh (not a typo, its phonetic) and are a very powerful full on metal threesome. 'Point and Shoot' starts with a very melodic Deftones vibe and then explodes into a screaming, ear bleeding vocal courtesy of Tony Litherland. The single builds and builds into a wall of noise, pulsating and yet pleasing on the eardrums. I've always stated I can't stand the grunting screaming vocals, but in this case the melodic metal nature definitely has made me change my stance (for now anyway). Immediately you get the impression they are widely influenced by many, and based on the power of one song are contenders to take over the mantle from Killswitch Engage.
One of the best things I can say about this is that its coming in the car with me. I'm going to play at 11 and piss off the kids in my street!
Cant wait for the album
