Finally, a Cheerful Singer Songwriter!
Soapbox Story is the musical workings of one man; Mr Will Hunt, a singer songwriter hailing from Kentish Town in North London. 'Lost and Found' is his debut single, a catchy blend of pop melodies and funky guitar.
This track is catchy from the outset, with the funky guitar chords and steady drums keeping a consistent foot-tapping rhythm throughout, while Will's witty and wry observations of everyday North London life provoke a smile with ease. An easy listen with plenty of hooks, this upbeat, jovial pop has the potential to reel in a large following. Even after several listens the rhythms continue to bounce around your head, which is always an encouraging sign.
Although this track doesn't do anything remarkably new or original, this up-tempo and witty slice of cheerful pop makes a refreshing change from the all too common singer songwriters' gloomy, "woe is me" outlook, which seems to dominate today's charts. A fine debut, with a feel good vibe that would make this a perfect summer tune. If we had a summer, that is.
