Enjoyable progressive track that retains its appeal listen after listen.

Montreal quintet The Stills return with another effort from their acclaimed second album 'Without Feathers', released earlier this year. Having shared the stage with Kings of Leon and The Shins on their recent touring schedule in the UK, the band are steadily building themselves a loyal following outside their native Canada. This single is sure to please many of these followers, and convert more to the cause.

The sound could be compared to a cross between The Flaming Lips and Arcade Fire, the steady and rhythmic bass drum and piano that introduce the track are certainly in the same sonic region as the latter. Perhaps the most enjoyable element of this track is the progression; building gradually from the humble maracas and piano to multi-layered instrumentation, with subtle yet effective vocals leaves the listener wondering what the next addition to the mix will be. Despite the simple structure to the song, the range of different effects and instrumental parts keep things fresh and interesting throughout, creating a single that retains its appeal listen after listen.
