Turin Brakes

"Dark On Fire" is an album of complexity, radiance and sheer magnificence, from one of the best bands around, Turin Brakes.

Starting with the pulsating and fulfilling "Last Chance". A magical vocal tone, sweet piano melody, forceful guitars and galloping drums come together in a marriage that very few bands could pull-off; the closest thing to the perfect start to an album. This is swiftly followed by "Ghost" a delightful track, capturing a vintage sound. "Something In My Eye" is a magical track; it's got something special about it that you can't quite pinpoint.

"Stalker" is an eerie rock track but still sheer class. "Other Side" is a slow track tossed in to the mix to provide some sort of contrast; a gripping chorus and moving lyrics. In title-track "Dark On Fire" the vocal style swifts to a Damien Rice quality. "Real Life" is a feel-good track that exposes a completely different side to Turin Brakes. "Timewaster" is a funky upbeat track, with an effervescent chorus and well you've heard "Here Comes The Sun" but "Here Comes The Moon" is a whole different ball-game and just as extraordinary.

This is one of those albums that you could listen to 24/7 and never get sick of.
