Poor

Nine Black Alps are doing alright for themselves. After the modest success of their debut single "Burn Faster" the band went on to be hailed as the next big thing in the NME, but whoever said that they had a taste in music? If I remember rightly, that's the same magazine to lick out bands like the incestuous "Shakes" (Calling them the next Gallagher Brothers...but instead of beating the clean and utter shit out of each other, these brothers prefer to snog...with tongues...speaks for itself really) and let's not forget, if it's not too late for that, Plan B (a rapper who they rendered as Indie-Rock?!*#).

They turn out batch after batch of rivals...Girls Aloud Vs. Lily Allen...The View Vs. Klaxons...The Killers Vs. the world...and now...Nine Black Alps Vs. The Courteeners? Who's better? Well, there's no contest really; newcomers The Courteeners clearly win by a long-shot. First of all they're somewhat original, Nine Black Alps aren't. Secondly they've got style, Nine Black Alps don't and thirdly their music is good, Nine Black Alps' music isn't.

"Bitter End" follows up their track "Burn Faster", which was also pretty mediocre. Think crappy Blur tribute band "Smudge" meets Simon Cowell. The outcome; horrible music made saleable, very predictable, boring lyrics, shitty lead singer and even worse musicians. There's nothing amazing about Nine Black Alps, so if you haven't heard them yet, it's advisable to leave them to their own locality, hopefully then NME will get bored of plugging them and toss them on the pile of other NME bands that are now all members of the same club; unemployment.
