No Aliens But Plenty Of Good Sounds
'You Are The Space Invader' is everything you wouldn't expect from a song about space; no electro phaser sounds and not even any frantic guitars mimicking intergalactic battles. Infact the tune has more of a roaming country bassline but with vocals curiously devoid of emotion, perhaps the "space invader" is just a metaphor for a distant human being after all. The few guitar interruptions have a wirey sound, cutting through the minimalist tune; jangly did mean then this would be what it sounded like.
If you like a good clean tune with not too many distracting interruptions from superfluous instruments then you'll welcome Prinzhorn Dance School's thinking. 'You Are The Space Invader' is ever so spooky in its echoing sparseness, but equally as engaging.
