The Adventures Of Loki – Dance Like A Maniac
It's the second release from Lancaster 3 piece 'The Adventures Of Loki' and it's decidedly dark, wonderfully weird and furiously frenetic. The jagged riffs, buzzing boy/girl duel vocals and fuzzy guitars make for a dizzy listening experience. They've been described as McLusky jamming with Kim Deal' and I can totally see why. This band have the positively bizarre and quirky edge that the Pixies found as their own, it's shouty, squalky and seriously infectious with some catchy chorus's and anthemic hooks.
I think this band are going to be seriously cool, not because they create astounding music but because they've taken on board what everyone else is listening to and gone in the completely other direction.
'Dance Like A Maniac' is a great title for a song that will do the perfect justice to it; anyone that does dance to this song will indeed resemble a robot in a psychiatric ward.
