Live at it's very best

What makes a great live performance is the ability for the performer(s) to achieve a certain precision and accuracy in their musicality, whilst engaging and mesmerizing their audience. These guys are geniuses, in their own right. They take a motif, so simple and develop it into something mind-blowing and utterly incredible. Their set at Zenith opens with a mysterious sustained build-up into something huge, “Lights”.

Then comes the subtle “Noise” with its amazing vocal texture and complementary accompanying music. It’s completely absorbing. Then comes “Bridge Scene” which is similarly magnificent, this is followed by the entirely explosive “Veins”. “Fuck U” is an aggressive attack at an ex. “Black”, “Sane” and “Sit Back Down” maintain the greatness of the band leading to an atmospheric, roof-raising finale procession with “Again” and “Pulse”.

It’s great to just listen to this in CD format. It just makes you wonder what it would have been like to actually experience it first-hand. They are masters of captivating and alluring the masses. Possibly one of the greatest live albums you’ll ever hear.
