Myriad Creatures - The Hero

The Myriad Creatures could be the new purveyors of dirty indie rock if the hype is to be believed. The Londoners who took refuge in Berlin from the "saturated London scene" have written a track they could march all the way home on. 'The Hero' begins with a familiar dose of melodic guitar before exploding into cavorting indie rock.

There is a diverse range of influences gestured to on the track. Iggy Pop's 'The Passenger' makes an appearance one minute in as the underlying bass line and the earlier White Stripes style vocal takes a back seat. The track sidles up to a strained chorus and builds into a radio friendly stomp.

It grabs and swaggers even with the relentless backing vocals. With their underground sound the Myriad Creatures will soon be back in the scene they tried to escape.
