Warmth for the Christmas Season.

It’s important to realise that The Concretes are fantastic. Caught up in their own little world of innocence and magical beauty, otherwise known as Sweden, Scandinavia’s latest fine exports have delivered something of a mini-masterpiece in time for the festive season. It’s a four-track limited edition EP entitled ‘Warm Night’, and if it shows up in your stocking on the 25th, I would implore you to smother the person who kindly purchased it in slimy, early-morning kisses.

Of course, like anything this good, there will be people who don’t take too kindly to ‘Warm Night’. There’s still a divide here at Room Thirteen. There are those who love The Concretes’ mystical nonchalance and innocent demeanour, a gorgeous twist on the pop genre. Then there’s Philippa, who thinks they’re a bit crap really. Whichever side you end up taking, I’d urge you greatly to sample this latest work of greatness from a band who thoroughly deserve their ever-inflating reputation. One of the prettiest records released all year.
