The Cavaliers - You're Not The Same Girl

The second release from the four-indie lads that make up The Cavaliers comes in two forms.

First there is ‘You’re Not The Same Girl’. This track has a heartbeat 1950’s/60’s beep bop feel to it with a deep intensity. The second, ‘Tottenham Court Road’ is calmer for the majority of the time but sinks into an intense pit when money is mentioned. The vocal talents of Maff are consistent through the two tracks. They seem to have their own innovative style while keeping that indie approach which is always good.

Being a Londoner, I slightly preferred ‘Tottenham Court Road’ to the first track, as it had more depth and relevance to it. These tracks will entertain for three minutes or so each, but unfortunately there is nothing on this release that stands out and hits a listener in the face to pay attention. Once they have stopped, there is no recollection that you had ever heard them in the first place.
